Pharmaceutical companies have opposed marijuana legalization for decades. In fact, they are some of the individuals behind marijuana prohibition, to begin with. The pharmaceutical industry stands to lose billions of dollars when marijuana becomes legal nationwide. As it is now pharmaceutical companies bring in an estimated 80 billion dollars a year in profit. This makes them one of the largest profiting industries in the world. They make this profit off of sick people. Selling pills that are life-saving medications to people for $1,000 each and more.
This type of profit over people has gone on for too long. They have fought to keep marijuana illegal and supported prohibition. They have helped fund the War on Drugs and the attempted eradication of cannabis. None of this has worked. All the individuals who consume marijuana are just like the plant itself and could be considered seeds. The pharmaceutical companies along with the United States government and collaboration with governments around the world have thrown dirt over these individuals or seeds.
Burying them in prisons leaving them to die and denying them access to a medication and a natural plant that is lifesaving and can change the face of life as we know it. Those seeds have now done what they did not expect. At first, they thought they were winning as all the seeds were going away. But they did not realize was the seeds will bloom into a forest that would turn into a Green Rush supporting marijuana legalization not only in the United States of America but around the world. In states that have adopted legal medical or retail access to marijuana, they are seeing a reduction in prescription drug overdoses by as much as 25%.
Seniors and retirees are moving to states with legal access to marijuana and kicking all of their prescription drugs to the curb along with the financial stress they cause. They are living happier healthier lives consuming cannabis rather than taking dangerous deadly drugs with a multitude of side effects that leaves them tired and feeling like a conformed zombie. These drugs are made with one thing in mind and that is profit. Even to this day instead of utilizing marijuana in its natural form to help treat people the medical industry is trying to figure out how to manipulate the science of cannabis and turn it into a consistently synthetic based product. Man, do they have it all wrong!
